Hello from London!

Ya, so the plane didn't crash and I am here safe and sound with my mother, in Aunty Kim Lean's place.

And oh, I feel like going home already. Surprise surprise! How fast is that? Hahaha...

Am actually thinking of not studying here altogether. Gah. But I suppose that feeling will disappear soon. :(

Internet here is rather slow. So blog next time. Ta.

PENANG!!! :) (for cousin's wedding)

GERAM! I have finished typing my blog entry and then my brother went to restart the router RIGHT when I clicked the 'publish' button and now I have to retype everything again! :(

And yea, obviously I won't have the semangat to type the same thing all over again, so lets just enjoy the pictures (with captions) instead.

On the way to Penang!!! This was like the first time after 3 years not visiting the island. :(

Yummilicious fattening gula-melaka-cendol with ang tau. To satisfy my cravings for gula melaka and also to cool my body temperature a lil' bit from the extremely hot weather in Penang. Why is Penang always so hot?!?!

Aunties + mummy waiting to be checked-in to the hotel.

The setting of the tea ceremony place.

Me and my cheapo RM29 dress which am so proud of. hahahha...

The four sisters. See any resemblance?

Tea ceremony. That would be my Tua Ee Tiau and Tua Ee. The ones I used to follow around during school holidays when I was a kid. :)

My pretty Ah Sou - Sinee and my cousin Ken Joon koko.

My mum's pretty cousin Ah Kiau Ee and her Taiwanese husband who looks like one of the Taiwanese Actors.

The kids' turn to get angpau!! :)

My Boey Gu and Cousin Ken Knee.

Nice nice scenery of Penang Island. :)

Part of the guests. Don't know who they are.

Declan and Dorothy; whose dad is going to charge a fee for taking photos of his children so that he'll be rich one day. =.="

So adorable, right?

Sinee entertaining the guests.

A failed attempt of Macro shot. Dorothy looks cute here though. :)

Sinee and her family, all the way from Bangkok! :) :)

The backdrop.

The gorgeous fairy lights surrounding the entire hall.

The newly wed, brought in by bellboy Rylan and flower girl cute little Cherisse.

Group photo of the table.

Me and the couple. :)

And lastly, an all-cousins-photo.

Then I spent the remaining 2 days eating eating and eating in Alor Setar and Jitra and came back with a round bloated stomach.

Yes, I don't have the mood to blog already, following the disconnection of the server.

Studio Photos

Woohoo!! As I have mentioned, I went to the studio for my graduation photoshoot, simply because I love to see my own face I prefer not to take photo in front of hundreds of people in the hotel, and I somehow feel that my dad will not have the patience to queue up to take pictures in public. (which turned out to be so true. He called me for more than 10 times in that 3-4 hours ceremony)

Furthermore, I went to see the studio displayed graduation photos and they all looked so nice. :) :) So yea, next time if you want to take graduation photos, go there!! :P

Here are some of the photos to beautify my blog. *giggles*

I love this background the most. :)

The nicest family photo ever. And, this is the only time we get to take a family photo after dunno-how-many-years. Last year when I was making my dad's birthday card, I couldn't even find a recent family photo to place in the card. Sad right.

My pretty face mememe. Yes-la I damn ai sui (爱美/self concious/like to dress up nicely) I went to curl my hair. Nice right, nice right?? But my stupid brother said, "What happened to your hair? Why like this one??" =.="

And the compulsory bookshelf photo of myself.

OK. Now my blog looks prettier. *satisfied smile* That's all for now!!

New Layout!!! :)

First of all, sorry to all the pink-haters. I am not a super fan of pink colour, but I do think that this layout will be rather sweet. So I shall just stick to it until I get tired of the colour.

By the way...

I am so proud of myself!!! :D

I actually managed to do my own layout for the very first time!!! Wootz!!!

Took me one afternoon to learn basic html, and another afternoon to learn from the original html and css codes provided.

Soon I can earn my own living doing photo editting, web designing for people! WHEEEE!!! *dreams*

Do bear with the cacat colours at the side bars and the old entries. Am yet to change them all.

Once again...welcome to Joyce's erm...pinky blog!! *shy*

p/s: pink haters: please don't hate me for using pink ok...:( :( :(

I am a GRADUATE!

Hello WORLD!

Mr. Cheah was saying about my dull blog with no pictures. Everyday words only.

What to do...blogging with pictures in office is damn obvious ok. Cincai one colleague walk pass also can see that I am not doing office work already.

As you can read from the title, here comes the one-week-overdue post. Not too bad, considering my blogging pace. Perhaps if someone is so kind to pay me to blog then I'll be more motivated to. But~ this is not the case as for now. So yea, here's the post.

The ceremony was so boring. Add to the fact that I was sitting beside our batch's number 1, who kept showing off his new attire. New suit, new shoes, new pants. AND NEW UNDERWEAR ALSO. Ish. Summore he said, "Aikz, how come everyone wore make up one?? I forgot to put make up lar..." like OMG Mr. PANG. Why are you liddat?!?!

Then he kept saying that he lost weight. hahaha...which was so not obvious at all, and distracted me throughout the whole time in that hall, making me feel even hungrier.

Ok, I shall leave the rest of the entry with pictures. Me is lazy, and I need to iron my mountain high pile of clothes. :( I am getting sick of my wardrobe. Every week I'll be ironing the same old pile of clothes. Sigh. So bad to be a poor working lady, aight?

Why is my family members like that????

I got my graduation studio photo samples already. Supposed to bring home to choose some of the pictures to develop. Then, instead of my usual "Oh I look so fat" complains, this is what happened.

Mom: Whoa, I look so fat.
Me: =.=" I know.
Mom: Shouldn't have worn this top. Makes me look like I'm pregnant.
Me: Nothing to do with the top. Memang fat d. Refuse to go on diet only. But can photo edit one..don't worry.
Mom: Oh...yes ah? Can make me slimmer? *excited*
Me: Can.
Mom: Oh...then tell them to make my face slimmer, arms slimmer, stomach smaller ok?
Me: O_o

...moments later

Mom: Remember ah...tell them to make me slimmer ok.
Me: Yes la I know already.
Mom: Tell them "My mother said she won't pay if she still look fat in the pictures"
Me: O_O

...brother browsed through the photo

Me: Choose which picture to develop
Bro: Don't choose this ok. *points at particular photo*
Me: Har? Why? Ok what.
Bro: (refuse to say out the word double chin) No lar, Cause I was looking down, then can see my face a bit fatter.
Me: Harh? Got meh?? Normal what. (Normally also fat already laaaaaaa~ You refuse to admit only what.)
Bro: GOT..AiYA UP TO YOU LA.

...and he stomped away..

Me: =.="

Mom: Eh, your scar getting more obvious already. (Referring to my dad's accident scar on his forehead)
Dad: Is like that already. All the while like that. Here and here, 2mm difference.
Mom: Yes meh?
Dad: Yes. At the back even worse, 4-5mm difference.
Dad: Oh YA! (turned to me) The photo, can see anot? The scar obvious anot???
Me: O_O. HARH? I didn't notice.

OMG. When I thought I am the usual one complaining the most. Here they are complaining more than me.

...next time when they scold me for complaining that I am fat, I shall remind them of these incidents.

*sobs* I have wonderful people around me

Went to bank with mum to settle bank statements and stuff for stupid UK visa application. I swear I can never be a good secretary. I am so bad in dealing paper works. The moment I see those piles of papers all scattered around, I seriously feel my head aching. *sigh*

Nevermind that. After dealing with those bank stuffs, we went to the market for lunch. Then mum stopped by this stall to buy panties. (*note: Seremban market has proper stalls selling clothings and stuffs, so there's basically nothing wrong buying lingeries there. hahaha...) Then I see see, the panties actually quite comfy and nice. So I asked how much is she selling for and she said 3 for 10. Like, comfy cotton non-Auntish panties. So cheap wei...hahahaa...so I chose 3 for myself.

Then when she put the panties I chose into the bag, I just kindly asked, "Can I take one more, still for RM10?" And, I thought she'll sure say, "Very cheap already la..." or something like that, but instead she said, "Hmm..Ok."

...and she smiled at me.

Then after my mum paid her, she said, "Aih, didn't get to earn money from the both of you."

and my mum just said, "Ah? Got one la..."

...and you know what she replied?

"Really one. Didn't get to earn money from you all. But nevermind, your daughter is very friendly."

*flattered*

Hahahaha...I shall go back to her to buy panties again, since she praised me.

And this is the first time I actually buy lingeries from market.

Yala, fuel price increased, so living standard have to decrease, what to do?!

Then after that, went back to office to do up some paper work. And walked to the post office for poslaju.

Since I was wearing skirt, I had no choice but to carry my bag along. (There is no pocket in my skirt) And I was warned by my colleagues to beware of my handbag, plus how I was traumatized by Yeng who told me how many cases of snatch theft in this small town Seremban, I decided to take RM70 along with me, together with my IC and leave the remaining in the office.

Yes, that was an incredibly bad move.

I feel so stupid of myself right now.

I hate Malaysia's safety sooooo much. ISH.

Throughout my whole walking journey to the post office, I was like looking backwards, side, all the time and was looking at all the motorcyclists in case they drove passed me and snatch my bag away from me.

But I finally made it to the post office.

Since I was going to post by Poslaju, I would expect them to provide me their special envelope to put my things in right?

But NOOOOOOO...They claimed that I have to use my own envelope.

Die la, I don't have envelope.

But nevermind, I remembered my friend's parent's stationery shop is just down the street.

So I walked there, to buy ONE envelope from them.

...and when I opened my bag, stupid-me baru realised that I left my wallet in the office.

I die-die korek/dig my bag inside out, also got 20 cents only.

HOW LA?!?! I don't have money wei...

And they were nice enough to give me for free.

Phew. Her parents remembered who is Joyce. They even remembered that I studied in Nottingham. For one moment right then I was so relieved that my friend actually told her parents about my existence. hehe...

So I went back to the post office to post the poslaju. When the counter fella told me it was RM77, I was so panic and I told him, "Macam mana ah? Saya hanya ada RM70, boleh hutang tak? Saya balik bagi you nanti" (How? Can I owe you first? I only have RM70 with me now)

I thought I was going to be shooed away from the post office. But no, he was kind enough to say, "Okok.. SHHHHHH...Jangan bagi tau orang."

And I walked out of the post office to think of 'strategy'

Office is 20 minutes' walk away. Friend's shop is 2 minutes away. Dad is Dunno-how-many minutes/hours away. Mum is at home.

Then I thought, since my friend's house is 5 minutes away from mine, I might as well go to her shop again.

I felt soooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. Asking for RM7 from friend's parents is also not an easy thing to do. :( :( :(

So finally I got the money to pay the balance in the post office, and continued my journey back to the office.

I seriously felt damn stupid of myself. I think I got possessed or something. Cause I remembered in my mind that I have reminded myself to take more money along to buy goreng pisang, but somehow I just brought RM70 and left the office.

Damn stupid right?

Then on the way back, I saw a stray dog trying to cross the busy road. It is not a normal stray dog, but one who walked with only its two front legs. Very saddening. I swear when you see the dog, your heart will drain. So pitiful. A van actually stopped in the middle of the busy road while the dog slowly drag its body over. And it was so traumatized when this school boy trying to carry him to the side of the road.

Sigh.

Pepper Tiong and the little Baby Tiong are so lucky~ as compared to the poor stray dog.

And things like these made me feel that I am one lucky girl on earth. :)

Chan Wa 90th Anniversary Dinner

Finally I have something more meaningful to blog about.

My dad passed me two tickets and told me to 'kau-tim' them. So I dragged my brother to this Chan Wa School 90th Anniversary Dinner. 90 years already wei~ but not very significant to me anyway. I agreed to go there because our school band was one of the performers too.

The sky was very nice that day. This picture was taken by my brother with his phone. Nice right? :)

We were late that night. Everyone was already seated when we walked in. Don't care la, we go also good enough already. :P Then we were seated right in front near the stage, two tables away from the amplifiers. So you can roughly imagine how terrible my ears were. :( Poor ears. I actually saw my Sejarah Teacher putting tissues into her ears!! And I could not resist myself to laugh at her. And SHE SAW ME LAUGHING, and she smiled back at me. Damn malu can.

On the whole, the performance by the students were all right. Not bad already, especially those small little kids. So adorable jumping around on the stage.

The only sucky thing about the night was the emcee and the person deliver speeches. How could you ever say things like the Deputy Education Minister being busy-body (多事) when you are actually trying to say that he's busy and has a lot of things to do (很多事情要办). And how could you say things like the Minister should go back and think about his actions for having bad time management (since he didn't make it to come for the dinner) Things like these made me feel rather malu ok... like could you please prepare your speech, pass it to your secretary or someone to check your speech before delivering to like thousand over audience?? At least make use of the dictionary and check and see if the words can be simplified, and after simplifying will it still mean the same thing. Sigh.

Oh and the Emcee. The last performance was a group song to be sung by all the PIBG people and so on. They took quite some time to set up the whole karaoke thing for them. So as an emcee, it would be normal if you say things to make the whole atmosphere less tense right. But instead of saying things like "Oh, there is some technical problem, maybe they are working it out so that the whole thing would be perfect later on"; she said, "That's very weird, throughout the whole night, all the performance went very smoothly, until your turn to perform."

Like what is she supposed to mean??? You call yourself a teacher and you talk like this??? tsk tsk tsk.

Ok. Enough of rantings. Sekali one of them googled and came to my site and read all these then I don't know how already. :( But what I said was true ok... In these kinda occasions, it's always better to be more prepared and deliver a better speech can. Like how my lecturers always say, "Don't ever make people feel that you are stupid."

So, if you can't deliver a proper speech, get someone to prepare a whole essay before you go on stage.

Ok, let the pictures do the talking.

Opening Ceremony of the night. (a.k.a. flooding the cake with saliva. :( )

Erm...some Thai dance by Chan Wa Primary School kids.

My junior!! (I don't know who is he though) He sang two songs for the night.

My band juniors!!!! I feel so old I tell you...I don't even know a single person on stage. Sigh.

More pictures of the band.

And this medley conducted by this guy conductor wearing an oversized tuxedo. I seriously think that Seremban people is malnutrition. Why are 80% of the guys I saw that night (yes, including uncles) shorter than me??? :(

Heheh...the cellist. I think this is the best picture of the night I have taken. My camera is starting to give me trouble. Non of the pictures turned out real nice. Sigh.

Poem recitation. I think I was livelier last time when I recited. :P At least we moved about on stage and we had more people. :P :P

And the very energetic Primary School Kids' dance. Damn cute. There were like so many cameras flooding the front of the hall during this performance. But then again, there were also like 50 of them kids on stage for this dance.

Primary school kids singing love song is such a no-no. Their voice is really nice, but there is zero interaction between the both of them. :( Like both of them went up on stage from different sides, and they didn't even care about each other when they sing. But, on the plus point, they sang Jay Chou's song, and it turned out pretty well.. for a primary school's standard. :)

Chan Wa High School Wu Shu performance. I remembered my junior represented Negeri Sembilan for SUKMA. and now...I see my super super juniors performing on stage. Time flies. Time flies. Sigh.

Chan Wa Primary School Choir. Quote brother, "Whoa Primary School Choir all same tone oni one hor...girls and guys all same voice oni." Which was quite true...since all the microphones were at the soprano singers.

I forgot what song he sang. But his voice is really nice. :)

Chan Wa High School Kelab Tarian.

Er...modern dance from some dance studio. Reminds me of Racken Force. (though technically very different la...) maybe it's the colours.

And the finale song. Which was so seriously unprepared. I would cry if I was there up on stage.

Food was...not good. I am sorry to be so straight forward but the food was really not good. :( :( I went home with an unsatisfied stomach but nevertheless... the performance was good. :) *thumbs up to CWB!!*

With that, my brother and I walked to our car which was parked like God-knows-how-many-kilometers-away and went home to sleeeeeep.

Maybe I'll be able bring my kids along for Chan Wa's 100th Anniversary Dinner in ten years' time. :P
